I Am Second has been making its way around the blogging community in the past few days. If you haven’t been there, check it out. It’s a really powerful collection of testimonies from some pretty influential people. They get real, talking about their struggles, burdens and faith. They deal with some pretty relevant issues in today’s world: addiction, pride, prostitution, abuse… it’s powerful stuff. And not only is the content incredible, but the presentation is fantastic as well.
Here’s one of my favorites from American Idol contestant Jason Castro:
Although I am not religious, as a fan of Jason I have nothing but admiration, respect and love for him after seeing this video. He is humble and open, talented and beautiful inside and out. I agree the presentation is wonderful, subtle enough to allow the viewer to focus on Jason and his words. It’s a wonderful work of art. :)
Hi Erin,
I know this is not what I AM SECOND is about, but if there were an Interview Of The Year Award, I think it would go to them.
Jason is many things, all good, would that I could be more like him.
I read something else here on the internet and they asked the question – Does religion belong on the stage? I can only answer that with another question. Does filth, violence and degradation belong on the stage?
Thank you for sharing and passing this around. Hugs Elaine
Well, I really did not know that Jason was christian. It is so beautiful the way he is talking about his faith, without shame or fear. I am huuuuge david archuleta fan, but honesty, I never have heard him -david- talk about Jesus in the way Jason did. Go Jason!!
I have seen this video several times. But, it never ceases to move me deeply. Jason’s quiet dignity and strength of character shine through every time. He inspires me to be more committed every day to living in a more centered and thoughtful way. I have met him several times, briefly and his spirit shines through. Especially in the way he treats others, he is kind and patient and gentle with people, while having a joyful and fun quality to his personality. It is an honor to be a fan of this talented young performer.
